The following issues have been observed in the printing process: stringing, poor print quality, and Z-seam leakage.
Stringing refers to the phenomenon where the surface of 3D prints appears uneven and textured, resembling "strings." This could be due to factors such as excessive print speed, improper temperature, or inconsistent extruder speed.
Solution:
①Reduce the print speed, especially for complex geometries or high-precision parts.
②Ensure that the print temperature and material type match the requirements of the parts and materials. It's recommended to follow the temperature recommendations provided by the material supplier.
③Increase the Retraction Speed or Travel, especially for large flat parts or models with long travel distances.
④If you are printing multiple models simultaneously, try to minimize the distance between the models to reduce travel distance.
Poor print quality typically includes rough surfaces, unclear details, and inaccurate shapes. This can be caused by inappropriate print parameters, improper equipment calibration, or poor material quality.
Solution:
①Check print parameters, including layer height, infill, Speed, and filament diameter, to ensure they match the requirements of the printed parts and materials.
(You can refer to this image to find the location for adjusting the parameters.)
②Ensure the print bed is leveled and flat to avoid quality issues caused by uneven bottom surfaces.
③Use high-quality printing materials to avoid using expired, leaking, or moisture-absorbed materials.
Due to the inherent limitations of FDM-type printers, completely eliminating Z-seams (layer seams) is difficult. However, with careful settings, they should be less noticeable.
Viewing Z-seam in Slicing Software:
To view the Z-seam in the slicing software, follow these steps: After slicing the model, click on "Preview" → Click on "Seams" in the top left corner of the display panel.
Solution:
Adjust the position of Z-seams: In slicing software, adjust the placement of Z-seams to make them less noticeable. Placing Z-seams at the model's edges, corners, or less visible spots can reduce their impact on the model's appearance.
These are methods to minimize the visibility of Z-seams; however, the effectiveness may vary depending on the printer, material, and settings. It's recommended to make adjustments and optimizations according to your specific situation for the best print quality.
The above troubleshooting methods did not resolve the issue. We recommend that you create an after-sales work order to provide the after-sales engineer with feedback on the previous inspection process and results. The after-sales engineers will assist you in finding a solution to the problem(Reply time :1 working day)
