The extruder is responsible for pulling the wire out of the spool and feeding it into the hot end. After heating and melting, it is extruded through the nozzle to generate the printed model. The extruder needs to precisely control the length of the wire extruded through the hot end and is one of the core components of the printer.
The hotend is responsible for heating the wire to the specified temperature, melting it and depositing it in thin layers to create a model. Different filaments require different heating temperatures. The Kobra S1 is equipped with an integrated design of the hotend, integrating the nozzle with the heating block and connecting it to the heat sink through a throat pipe to achieve the best performance. Furthermore, the hotend of the Kobra S1 adopts a quick-release design. You can first disassemble the print head case and then move the handle to replace the new hotend.
The hotbed is used to heat the printing surface, helping the printing layer adhere better to the frame plate. The hot bed size is 250*250mm, which can meet most printing requirements.
The Kobra S1 adopts the CoreXY motion system, which consists of two stepper motors. The X and Y stepper motors work together to control the movement of the tool head. Each stepper motor has an independent belt connected to the tool head, and the system uses a pair of belts to control the position of the tool head. Compared with traditional Descartes printers, printers using the CoreXY motion system are faster because this motion system is lighter in weight, which is very important for fast printing.
The Z-axis of the printer is composed of three lead screws, which are connected to the Z-axis motor through a belt.
To achieve rapid printing with Kobra S1, good cooling of the printed components is required. Therefore, a model cooling fan is equipped inside the print head. To achieve rapid cooling of the hot end, a hotend cooling fan is also provided.
The printer is also equipped with a printer filter fan at the back to remove the odors produced during printing. There is also a motherboard cooling fan on the printer's motherboard to prevent machine malfunctions caused by overheating of the motherboard.
The Kobra S1 can also be equipped with an auxiliary cooling fan inside the chassis. Good heat dissipation helps improve the printing effect. Turning on this fan will form an "airflow layer" on the printed part, which is conducive to curing the printed layer as soon as possible.
The display screen of Kobra S1 is on the top of the chassis and can be rotated at different angles according to actual use. The display screen is connected to the mainboard via a ribbon cable to achieve communication between the print head and the display screen. If the printer's display does not work, you can first check if the display ribbon cable is damaged, and then reinsert the display ribbon cable.
The camera integrated in the printer is used for AI detection, but the "Anycubic" APP can also be used to monitor the print in real time. In addition to the monitoring function, the camera can also record the printed video to a USB flash drive and generate time-lapse video. The machine is not equipped with a night vision device, but the LED light strip on the side can illuminate the printed matter.
The power supply is located at the back of the printer and is used to provide electricity for the printer. When replacing the new power supply, please do not connect the positive and negative poles incorrectly.
