Cyan, magenta, yellow, and black are the standard printing colors. By superimposing these four colors in different ways under natural light, a variety of colors can be displayed.
The CMYK image model algorithm utilizes this principle. Using PLA materials in standard colors of C, M, and Y, a rich array of colors is produced by arranging and overlapping them at a low layer height. Combined with white material, it forms contours and dark colors.
This template will directly generate 5 STL files, which should be dragged in together and combined into a multi-part object. Color each part in the object list, slice, and initiate printing. After printing, it needs to be used with a backlight panel.
*The idea comes from Color Lithophane Maker
Based on the brightness contrast of the image, the model is built in steps and layered. The higher the brightness, the higher the layer height; the lower the brightness, the lower the layer height. Different colors of materials are used to print different layers, and the image effect is simulated through light transmission and shading (color mixing and contrast).
This template implementation principle requires printing one color per layer. Depending on the actual situation, a total of 3-4 colors are implemented for printing.
This template will generate a readme file to record its color layer information, as well as an STL file. Import the STL file, slice it, color by layer number, and then slice and print. No backlight panel is needed after printing to view normally.
*The idea comes from: shop.thehueforge.com, it is recommended to purchase and use Hueforge to get more powerful model editing and generation functions.
Image upload requirements
The printing size is the actual size of the output model, with a default width of 144, and the other side adapts automatically; the minimum value is 20, and the maximum value is 450, in mm
The left side is for photo template switching and template parameter adjustment, and the right side is for previewing the printing effect of the template image; you can switch templates and adjust the slider position multiple times to view the model effect that best meets the requirements in real-time
Based on the nature of photo printing, the material needs to have a certain degree of light transmittance. It is recommended to use common PLA standard materials, and materials like Matte, Slik, etc., are not recommended
